Bathurst was on TV, it was a pleasant sunny morning, and six corvettes and a 4 X 4 met at Blackwood. Members from Mt Gambier (Peter and Wendy) were also at Montagna Café to meet local members, [having been in the club for 12 months but had not had the opportunity to meet other members] and were sorry they didn’t have the vet with them. Cruised up through Coro Valley, Clarendon, Kangarilla to Meadows for morning tea. Met two more vets at the Meadows Bakery, then continued on to Strathalbyn along Paris Creek Road. Drove through the city of Strath, to the delight of locals and visitors who admired the procession of “classic muscle”. Continued on to our destination, the Bridge Hotel at Langhorne Creek, (where we were booked for lunch), and were caught up by Stuart and Ruth who had been delayed. Meals were traditional “country Pub fare” – enjoyable, reasonably priced and large. Beware if you’re not real hungry, a bowl of wedges will feed a family of four!! The run finished with nine corvettes and a Mitsi 4 X 4, the members enjoyed the scenic drive and were happy with the meals. Some doubters said there wouldn’t be many willing to come on a run on “Bathurst Race Day”, so thanks to those who came and made for an enjoyable day. Happy cruzin’ TBS.
