A cool 14 to 17 degree autumnal day for a Corvette cruise with a high forecasted chance of rain particularly in the Adelaide hills. Not so desirable however the weather so far through the month has been very pleasant on the whole but did not put any of those off who had put their names down to attend.
This situation did deter a certain owner of a burgundy C3 from getting his Corvette out of the shed but it was great to have their company. A second Corvette preferred to stay in the comfort of the garage and decided not to start so an alternative ride was used.

The first meeting spot was the Craft Coffee Café at the Home Centre at Mile End where the townies met and left around 10.45 am up Greenhill Rd for the hills proceeding through Burnside, Summertown, Uraidla and Balhannah to meet the Country folk at the Artisan Oak Café in Little Hampton which had the fire and great coffee waiting for us. It is a fabulous time of the year to drive the Adelaide Hills to see the autumn colours.

It was here the clashing of dedication to use your Corvette under such weather forecasted conditions or not was evident with one silver C3 owner using their Corvette, which had never been out on such a day, and another, I won't go on, but mentioned earlier.
The trip to Langhorne Creek commenced around 11.45 cruising along the old Princes Highway through Nairne, Kanmantoo, Callington and Woodchester along very well suited Corvette friendly roads arriving at Lake Breeze Winery in time for our scheduled lunch at 1.00pm.

We must compliment the winery staff for looking after us so well in having us as a group in their Stone Room exclusively with great service on a day when they were so busy with visitors wanting to be in such pleasant surroundings.

Jenny and I stumbled across Lake Breeze when we were looking for lunch venues early in the investigation period of venues for our schedules 2020 Corvette Nationals however their facilities then were much smaller.
Since then however they have expanded to now have large function facilities which are very impressive.
The weather on the day, in the main, turned out to be much brighter than predicted but there were a few passing showers as we were ready to head for home which confirmed for the leave at home owner it was the right decision!
We trust everyone who attended enjoyed their day and Jenny and I extend our thanks to you all.
