| Heart Kids Car Show - 2nd February 2020 Write Up by Gary McPhee
 18-Feb-20

On the 2nd February Heart Kids held its first car show. They have decided to have a show and shine as part of Heart Month. The event was to give parents and Heart Kids a bit of a break from the constant hospital visits and other appointments that they have to endure.Gary McPheeEntry fee on the day was $8 which might sound a bit unusual but it is for the 8 children that are born each day with some type of Heart Condition. The event was an early start down at Athol Park but it was only for three hours.

As a club we were advised at short notice of this event and it was great to see 8 Corvettes and one that wants to grow up to be one (PB it would just about fit in the boot of some cars) turn up for the day. There were approximately three dozen cars there on the day, ranging from old police cars to some cars from the Ford Car Club as well.

I would personally like to thank Peter McBride, Dale Goldsmith, Rudy and Kay Rygucki, Alan Litchfield, Graeme and Joy Walker, Danny Robinson, Tony Beer Smith, Peter Bartlett (in the Fiat Topolino that wants to grow up into a Corvette) and Ian Gregor (no car) who all made the effort to come out on the day.

It was great to see a number of our members win prizes in the raffles that were held during the morning.

Heart Kids still have some things to learn in running car shows but I am sure that with some hard work and earlier publicity they will make the event even stronger.

If the day brought a smile to just one Heart Child then the effort was all worth it. So A BIG Thankyou from me.
