26th National Corvette Convention
For those of you who were unable to attend the convention below is an account of what happened………although some names and exact details may have been omitted to protect the identity (and reputation) of those involved.
Convention Day 1 – Welcome to one and all
It was once said that all roads lead to Rome, but on Good Friday it was more a case of all roads lead to Rowland Flat!!! A steady stream of Corvette’s from all over this wide country converged on the secluded and idyllic hamlet of Rowland Flat between Lyndoch and Tanunda in the Barossa Valley. Travellers from near and far checked in at the registration desk throughout the day to collect their goody bag and prepare for the eagerly anticipated days ahead. We were fortunate to have guests attending from almost every state and territory of Australia as well as from Canada the USA and just across the ditch from New Zealand.
The first event on the calendar was the ‘Meet and Greet’ Dinner which gave everyone the opportunity to meet new Corvette owners and reunite with old friends from conventions past. The venue for the convention was the Novatel Barossa Resort who provided us with a delicious dinner on the opening night. |
