Alan's 1972 350 Corvette Coupe
Year of purchase: November 2010 Transmission type: auto

Special Options  ac, pb, ps, pw, tt, Californian smog pump.
Still had the original '72 made spare tyre in the carrier (which has since been replaced, as it was rock hard)

History of your Corvette as you know it  I have a log book and a stack of receipts from the 2 previous owners in California, and some from the owner from who I bought it from in Cairns Qld, which apart from the importer to Australia, makes me the 4th owner. The car has only been Australia since Aug 2006

Work undertaken since you have owned it to get it ready for Regency and historic rego, I gave the car the once/twice over, had the brakes overhauled after I found the parking brake non functional, sized cable.
Installed a new exhaust system once passed, as the rear cutouts had been filled in at some stage.
I removed the cd player/boom box set-up and installed a retro style radio/mp3 player.
The car I think is in great shape for its age, with just general wear an tear to be seen.
I need to replace the door/window rubbers, have them ready to go, just need some guidance/help....hint hint.
Have plans to tidy up under the hood, but at the moment I'm enjoying the car to much to start pulling it apart.

Favourite outings any car outing with the club is always great fun, be it a sunday cruise, or the golf day, I have had fun at all of them. Since becoming a member last Nov I have tried to get to all of them.
Being single I'm not much into the dinner party side of things yet as it's just not my thing, but I have been known to change my mind.....
Always enjoy going on the Zipple cruises, that's what sparked my interest in classic cars, as I used to go cruising in a mates '66 Pontiac GTO

Any other vehicles currently owned of interest?   Don't think my El falcon wagon makes the cut.

General
I used to race power boats, but after barrel rolling at over 100mph a few years ago, I decided that a change of pace was required. Always loved the classic shape of the early vettes, and I looked around about 4yrs ago, looking at '75-'77 era cars, but nothing came of it.
Then around the middle last year I was financial enough to be able to look at chrome bumper cars. Looked at a couple local, and had a good lead on a '70 in NSW, but it fell thru 2 days before I was to fly over and have a look.
Disheartened I sat back and regrouped for a couple of months, then found a sunfire yellow '72 in Cairns.
But it's yellow, I kept saying to my self, it's yellow. But the more I looked at it, and the others for sale on the various internet sites, I kept coming back to it. So I flew up and had a look after spending a couple of lengthy phone calls with the owner.
Next thing I knew it was in my drive way after spending almost 2 weeks on the back of a truck for the drive to it's new home.

And rest they say is history.....
